Stacy Adams Men's Madison Cap Toe Woven Oxford

Stacy Adams Mens Madison Cap Toe Woven Oxford
I have owned this pair for seven years and they still look like I purchased them last week. The material is excellent, the workmanship screams quality. Your swagger can't be denied. If you are a baller or a business man, people will take notice and if they don't compliment then you can bet they took several glances. You can judge a man by his shoes style and his shoe size, (pass than on to the ladies). Don't be afraid, try this pair with your brown suits, you won't be disappointed (excuse spelling). Peace.

I really wanted these shoes to work - enough so that I ordered three pairs in the attempt. The design is great, and they're really comfortable. But the quality control at the factory appears to be terrible.

One pair had gouges in the leather on each toe underneath the finish (meaning the leather was damaged, but completed+shipped anyway). On another pair one shoe had the little flap at the base of the laces permanently rolled over/folded (dog-eared) and the leather on the piece was dirty/blackish instead of taupe. The wood soles on each pair looked pretty rough, and some had large chunks of glue along the stitching, or little stains on the wood from glue or some kind of solvent.

I even tried combining two pairs to make it work - which only underscored the factory inconsistency - the leathers weren't even close to matching.

JD Fisk has a great aesthetic, but sadly their quality levels need to be raised before I'll buy again. The only good thing I can say about the transaction is that Amazon Prime was great and took all the shoes back without issue and gave me a refund the second UPS took the return shipments into their system.

I normally wear an 8-D shoe and have for many years. Since the manufactures have gone to the narrow-medium-wide sizing I have found that a medium is similar to the 'D'. Not so with these shoes. My feet were VERY uncomfortable due to the width. This is a good looking shoe but would rec. buying one size wider! Remember Patent leather does NOT stretch!!

I have been a purchaser of Cole Haan shoes for a long time. I've always believed good footwear is very important if you're on your feet all day. I have friends who buy cheap shoes and always complain how their feet hurt. I am extremely tough on footwear because of my size. I'm 6'5", weigh 215 lbs and have a very high arch in my foot. I like all leather shoes because they will last a long time with proper care and they can be resoled. Cole Haan shoes are always true to size and this style can be worn with Dockers, dress slacks, a suit and jeans. I'm giving them 4 stars only because they took much longer to break in than other Cole Haan shoes I've owned. Once they loosened up, they are extremely comfortable and look good all the time.

This is my 3rd pair of ECCO shoes. My first pair is nearly 3 years old and they are holding up extremely well. I have ordered them in various colors because I like them so much. These are among the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever worn. They have a removable liner that ventilates the insoles and keeps you comfortable all day. The soles are synthetic, but very lightweight. Another thing I like about these shoes is how well they hold a shine. These shoes are easy to care for. I rarely take the time to shine them the old fashioned way because they look very good with just a quick wipe with the sponge-type shoeshine. The only negative thing I could say is that of the 3 pair that I own, the size/fit is a bit inconsistant....maybe less than 1/4 size variation.

              Bass Men's Larson Penny Loafer

              Bass Mens Larson Penny Loafer
Since the Bass shoes I usually buy are not easily found locally (Salisbury, NC) I usually have to travel to find a seller that not only has a decent selection, but my size (13D). Just got my first pair online and this is the review. Not every Bass shoe line has a 13D, but this one does. This Bass "Larson" is one of several relatively inexpensive Bass "Weejun" style loafers that typically fit comfortably and wear extremely well. The open footwell easily accommodates a larger foot without being so open that the shoe falls off the foot. The Burgundy (cordovan) color is very versatile and the high quality leather buffs easily to a lasting shine with little effort. I just had another pair of these resoled after a year because they are my favorite work shoes and the uppers still look great. Many less expensive shoes have rubber bottoms which are arguably quieter walking down an office hallway, but I've found that they wear out faster than the leather soles on the Weejuns. I've tried others but I keep coming back for the comfort, wear and reliability of the Bass Weejun brand.

The only con I know of is that prices appear to have gone up in the last several years. I used to get mine for about $65/pair at an outlet in the mountains, but I don't travel that way anymore.

I've read reviews that knock the less-expensive Atlanta shoe. Those reviewers may want to give it a try again. ECCO has made significant (if sometimes subtle) improvements throughout this shoe, including a more supple, pliant upper, a stock insole that is so good I have forgone the gel inserts I used to wear, and other improvements to the heel and sole that seem to make it more durable and fit better right out of the box. I'm in construction management, so I'm on my feet for extended hours on hard surfaces - and this new version of the Atlanta is superior to other shoes I've worn, even when those were fitted with top-quality gel insoles. This shoe has a great classic look and is reasonably durable, so I can wear it in the field or to a meeting. Great job, ECCO - I will buy no other brand.

I have owned this exact pair of shoes since 2010 (2 years now). I was getting tired of dress shoes, even expensive ones, that were wearing out after only 5 to 8 months. A lot of reviewers comment about how comfortable Eccos are to wear. They're right: these are definitely one of the most comfortable dress shoes I've worn.

More significant: these are my every day shoes at the office, and after 500+ days of wear 1) they are still comfortable 2) all the seams and stitching are still in good condition, 3) the heel is wearing very slowly, 4) even the shoe laces are in good condition. The construction and quality is worth the extra cost of these shoes. I suspect I'll get at least another full year of good wear, and probably longer. At that point, I'll head back to Amazon and purchase another pair of Eccos.

I've worn these shoes between 3-5 times per week for the past six months (walking 8 total city blocks and then walking around my work office), and I love them. Buying shoes for me is usually so difficult because I have such wide feet but these fit me just fine. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 in normal-width shoes, and these fit me great in a 9EE.

These are the first pair of oxfords I've owned but I don't see myself looking for a different pair anytime soon. And I will be stocking up on a brown pair of these soon for my brown pants and belts and such. I just don't think you can beat the classic style and comfort of these leather shoes. With all the guys walking around in the clunky, squared-off, 100% rubber modern "dress shoe" junk I can't say enough about how sharp these are. I just wish I didn't have to wear them so often so I could take better care of them and make them last longer.

These shoes are good looking and very comfortable as other reviewers have remarked. I didn't start of feeling that way. After I bought them they stayed in a closet unused for several months. Then one day I took them out and put them on (with the inserts on)and I thought to myself "Boy these ARE comfortable". Then, when walking around at work I noticed that the left shoe would make a sighing sound with each step I took! I retied the laces but that made little difference. By and by I realized that it was the insert that was being lifted by my foot with each step and the piston-like effect of the movement in the shoe was causing the sound. It was a bit frustrating but I persevered having passed the return by date. A good thing too, because the sound stopped after about a week of use. I think what happened was that the leather moulded itself to my foot and I could tie the shoe tight enough to keep the insert in place. And shoe and I lived happily ever after.

The shoes arrived earlier than expected. The finish and quality of materials is excellent and up the standards expected based on previous Florsheim products. The fit was a little tight and hard to get on at first, and not nearly as comfortable as previously purchased Florsheim shoes. Hoping the shoe will stretch out a little to make it easier to get on and off.

Disappointed with product as the Seller states in the description that these shoes are Italian Made. They are actually made in China. After numerous emails to Seller they tell me 95% of Hugo Boss shoes are made in China. Of course this is another lie. 90% of Boss shoes are actually made in Italy. The description has still not been changed for this product so BE AWARE!!!
I asked to return these shoes and I was told I have to pay to send them back. After arguing I was told to send them back and Hottest Footwear would reimburse my costs. I have decided to keep the shoes only after reading other reviews about this campany. If you are waiting on a refund, keep waiting as they do not pay.

UPDATE, 09/16/12: Well, after not wearing it for a while (see lower review), I decided what the heck, it's scuffed already and started wearing it to work. As a commuter, I have to walk a short distance (like a mile) in these shoes. They are still very comfortable, though the weight distribution feels a little odd (the shoe feels very bottom heavy).

The shoe itself is a dust magnet and requires (more then regular) attention to make sure it maintains its sheen. However, I still get compliments for them after I give them a good wiping.

                                  ------

This is a great looking and fairly comfortable shoe. It required no breaking in and I was comfortable standing for the 6 hours that I wore them.

On my first wear, someone accidentally stepped on my left shoe. Now, there's a small tear in the synthetic leather at the front. On my first wear.

Honestly, if I could somehow return these, I would. This shoe is so very delicate that I'll just look at it and never wear it again for fear that I'll scuff/tear it some more it

Most people will wear a dress shoe up to a full size smaller than their sneaker size. In addition shoes are shaped on lasts. If you go to the shoe manufacturers website they will often tell you to size up or down. I find that this shoe fits true to my dress shoe size although the consensus is they run a half size large. I can say that there is no way the commenter who says they are one and a half sizes off from his dress shoe size is correct. For this price you get a Goodyear welted shoe made from full grain leather. I implore you, if the shoe doesn't fit, use amazon's wonderful return policy to get a pair that does. I did not find glue marks or loose stitching in my shoe and with the use of shoe trees mine still look great after 6 mos.

just got these so can't really comment on durability, which is probably 1 of 2 most important factors when spending this much on shoes. I can say they are comfortable. Just wanted to give my input on the size. I usually wear a size 10 US. when you look at sizing charts, 10 US translates to a 44. I even went into a high end shoe store recently and they had this machine/computer that you stand on, and it tells you your size, it said 44 exactly. Whenever I've tried on 44 Ecco's in the past though, they've always been too big. So, I ordered these in 43 and they are definitely not too small. I would say they fit perfectly, but i could imagine them being even a little bit smaller (however I gotta believe that 42 would be too small). Point being, if you wear a 10 US, I suggest 43, or maybe even going to a shoe store first and seeing how a 42 fits - which I will probably do when i have a chance.

Update - 6 months: Still extremely comfortable. Still in good shape. One design complaint - the way the sole extends around the outside of the shoe, where the leather meats the sole all the way around it tends to collect huge amounts of pollen/dirt/dust. Every time I pick up my kid from day care and just walk into the backyard this happens and needs to be washed out with a cloth. Maybe this is normal, but I've never noticed this happening on my other shoes. I've also never had such expensive shoes, so I don't know.

I had to purchase some Dr. Scholl supports to replace the existing sole insert. I probably would not purchase this shoe again.
